My name is Darcy John. I created this site to help men and their families understand prostate cancer and be informed on how they can best deal with this cancer.
Many men ignore the early symptoms prostate cancer and get treatment latter than they could of. It’s not all the Guys fault either. Prostate cancer specialist doctors will tell you that not enough G P’s are urging male patients to have the simple tests early enough.
Every man should go to a urologist and have the digital examination and get a PSA blood test by the age of 40 years, whether there is a history of prostate cancer in the family or not.
Recently at a prostate cancer conference I listened as a 36 year old man asked for information on metastatic prostate cancer. He’d had prostate cancer for a number of years and it had spread to other parts of his body. He most probably will not make 40 years of age!
I can’t tell you the number of times of heard of men in their 60’s going for their first PSA and digital exam. Usually it is because of symptoms they have aquired. Rising several times at night, weak stream, poor sex performance are the usual. Why wait until these symptoms demand attention? Is it because of the embarassment of having a doctor push a gloved digital finger up your anus? Well — you need to be alive to have that embarassment! Go and get embarassed and have no regrets!

I have some links on this site that do make me a small amount of money and that helps to cover the cost of the site, however my interest is in putting information sources available to the reader to learn about early symptoms prostate cancer, treatments available, and other aspects of dealing with this condition.
